English Teacher at a public school in Shenzhen

We are looking for English teachers for public schools in Shenzhen, China. Public schools are state-run schools, in which you work during normal office hours for at most 22 teaching hours per week. At public schools, you always have the weekends off and you will enjoy Chinese public and school breaks (winter and summer breaks). If you teach at a public school, you can choose to teach at a Kindergarten, a primary school, secondary school as well as a high school.

The student’s ages for the kindergarten will be from 3- 6 years old. For the primary school classes will be from 7 to 12 years old. For the secondary school, the ages will be between 13 to 15 years old. At high schools, the ages will be between 16 to 18 years old. The classes will be between 30 to 50 students. The starting dates of the Chinese school semesters are the first of March and the first of September.

Main responsibilities
– Prepare and deliver English classes
– Prepare and carry out appropriate teaching plans
– Assess students’ work and provide feedback

Working environment
– Maximum of 22 teaching hours per week
– Office hours will be preferred
– Class size: around 30-50 students per class

Requirements
– Excellent command of English
– Available for at least 10 months, starting from every March / September
– Bachelors degree or equivalent (a higher degree will enhance your employment conditions)
– Hold a teaching qualification such as TESOL, TEFL, ESOL or CELTA, you can apply for it after being accepted by China Plus
– Willing to join extra activities the school organises
– Open-minded towards Chinese culture
– Flexible, creative and patient personality
