Shanghai

Shanghai is the most populous city in China and a global financial center and transport hub. Located in the east of China along the coast of the East China Sea, it has grown to be the regional cultural center and one of the gates to the western world. Shanghai has also become a popular tourist destination, renowned for historical landmarks such as the western-influenced ‘The Bund’ area and ancient Chinese City God Temple to the majestic Yuyuan Gardens and the famous Lujiazui skyline. Because of it’s financial status as well as connections to the rest of the world, Shanghai has long been considered the birthplace of modern China and Chinese culture and has grown to be a great place for foreigners to get involved with China. People in Shanghai speak Mandarin-Chinese as well as their own local language, but many people in Shanghai also speak very good English!
